I have some really cool pictures from the show, but I am having some issues with my iphoto, blogger photo uploader, and flickr. Just with those photo's though, maybe it's personal I am not sure, but I will proceed to tell you about the show then hopefully (fingers crossed) post pictures of the show soon.
It worked!!! Yes I figured it out! Rock and Roll.
This guy, the base player, is my favorite! He is so animated on stage and he stars in the infamous dance number they do so well.
As I am writing this the sky has turned black and hail is rocketing from to the ground. What the heck is going on? Anyway the show was fab and Ian was a trooper. Driving a total of about 3 hours just so I could see them. Woohooo!
The highlight of the evening was when they cleared the stage and preformed the dance that made me a fan. I have not been that excited since I got a My Little Pony sleeping bag for Christmas.
I love OK GO! Go Go Go.

Ok Go, Have a good show!

About a month ago Heather introduced me to a fantastic band called OK GO. If you haven't seen there online video A Million Ways please take a few minutes and check it out. I promise you will not be disappointed. As a result of that video I bought the bands album. The songs have brought me joy while I have been cleaning the flat or making dinner. All that to say tonight due to my amazing Ian's contacts I am going to see them live in Cambridge. They are only playing 30 minutes, but i know it will be worth it. Ian is graciously going with me even though there is probably nothing he would rather do less. I am so excited about going I can hardly stand it. I will let you all know how it goes. Woohooo!

I love Lost!
Why do i love this show? I am not sure, but it rocking my world. I couldn't sleep last night because I was thinking about it and then I couldn't sleep because I had a dream about Anglena Jolie and her Son Maddox. That was weird, but back to Lost. On Wednesday i watch it over at TOm's house because he has sky. We are a season behind so I try to keep up to date by reading it and watching recaps online, but it is not good enough I need more. If you know how to download shows from the internet please let me know. I have to run, but fill me on the Dharma project and what will happen if they don't enter in the numbers every 108 minutes.

If we took a Holiday...Oh yeah..Oh yeah..Took some time to celebrate......
Sept. 28th
Arrived at Nice airport and drove for about 2 hours to find our hotel because Ian is a typical man and hates asking for directions. In the end we found it without much drama and finding it on our own did feel like a mini accomplishment.
After settling into our amazingling lush Boutique Hotel - Hotel Juana - we ventured out into the little seaside town of Juan les Pins for dinner and a bottle of wine.

Sept. 29th
Most of the day was spent on the private beach, Les Pirates, associated with the hotel basking in the the french Riviera Rays and reading our books of the trip - Blink and Bono on Bono. It doesn't get much better than laying on a padding lounge chair, 10 feet from the sea, feeling the warmth of the sun soaking into your skin, and reading an amazing book.
For Dinner we finally, after much deliberation, decided to eat at a vibey little place on the beach - literally the tables were on the beach - staffed by some funky locals rushing about bare feet serving a selection of asian and french food. We had Asian and a bottle of white wine.
Sept. 30th
Drove to Old Antibes to check out a Provençal Market. The hustle and bustle of a half local half tourist market is very exciting, Mom you would have loved it! The goods on sale tempted me but I managed to escape with just a small bag of Olives. The Picasso museum is in Antibes but unfortunately has strange hours so we missed our chance of going, but the town itself was a little like a museum. So quaint and the few of the sea once again breathtaking. That night we thought we were going to a fabulous club/restaraunt in cannes called Baoli that hosted the Star Wars party at the film festival, but when we finally found it - i guess part of the appeal is that it is hidden in a port- they were having a private party for L'Oreal. Feeling very disappointed and irritated with the concierge from our hotel who had said he would call and get us a table, we headed back to Juan les Pins and found a jewel of a restaurant by the name of Le Paradis and ended up having a wonderful night.
Oct. 1
Our waiter the night before had told us about a little village we needed to visit that Bono owned a house in so we decided we would do that today. But Ian was not listening when he explained it and although his English was good he spoke quickly and I did not totally get the name. I looked online and using my detective skill - which turns out are not very good - thought i found the place, Corros Village, a medieval village perched on the top of a hill with an amazing view. All the things we were told about Bono's village. it was all those things, and turns out better than Bono's village in the sense that it was not a tourist attraction. We were probably the only non locals there. So quiet, so quaint. I am pleased we found the place. After our day out we again went to the beach and that night did make it to Baoli which is the coolest restaurant i have ever been to.

Oct. 2
Eze - Village the place where the rich and famous own fantastic homes. Probably one of if not the most spectacular view I have ever laid eyes on.
That was the highlight of the day. the rest of the day was spent on the beach and dinner was a cute little restaurant near our hotel.
Oct. 3
Last day. A trip to Monaco and Monte Carlo, not that exciting but something worth seeing. Gray skies and cool breeze kept us off the beach. we made on more trip to Eze-Village for lunch to eat the most amazing savory crepes. Yummy!
After and evening stroll along the beach we went back to our little restaurant near the hotel with the nicest staff. I so did not want to leave so I savored the last moments of my trip to the French Riviera. That night it stormed all night so leaving was little easier.

Bonjour
J'suis tres bien. France is beautiful. Most of today was spent laying on a private beahc that is associated with our hotel. They weather was fabulous and Ian dis very pink. We have interent on his computer only so will have to load photo's on here tomorrow. I saw old lady boobies today. Here is france it is common to pay out and swim topless and all the guys wear speedo's. It is awesome. Being naked is cool. We did not paticipate in this custom but ofund it amusing witnessing it. Our hotel is amazing and the people are so nice. I thought the French might be a bit offish, but here they are lovely. tomorrow we are going to an old market to look at local goods and then probably to the beach again. Tomottow night i think we might venture into Cannes to hang with the rich and famous or anyone who is at the same place as us. Called Baoli, a hip trendy night club on Cannes. Hopefully it wil be fun. Sorry if this is written poorly i can't typw very well on Ian's computer and i have ad a gin and tonic and a mojhito. Yummy. Bonsoir.

Conkers......a little bit bonkers.

Last Saturday was Ian's Mom's (Rosemarie) Birthday. Julian and Marie hosted it at their new house in Chalfont St. Jiles. The soirée was attended by Ga and Jack (Ian's grandparents), Me and Ian, and obviously Julian, Marie, Rebecca, and Ella. The sun shined brightly and like a cold-blooded reptile I soaked up the rays. Rebecca and I were introduced to an ancient school boy game called Conkers. To play this game you have to find a conker tree, knock down the conkers, put a small hole through them, and then thread them on some thick string. Then you hit the conkers together till one breaks and if yours doesn't break you are the winner. (If you want to know more click on the link above.) A very fun game, but watch out for your fingers they can get hit accidentally and it really hurts. Ouch!
The best part of the game was when Ian, who had won three games, played Julian and knocked Julians what was going to be a winning conker out of his hand and in good old fashioned school boy fun yelled "stampseeees" and stamped Julians poor helpless conker to bits. At this Julian's faced dropped and he looked like a child who had just found out that Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy were not real all at the same time. He was devastated at the loss. Hilarious! We had a great day that ended with a nice meal at home and a crap movie. The Wedding Date. I know, I know why would I waste my time but I thought it might be light hearted and charming well it just plain sucked. Two thumbs down.

Saturday

This morning I got up at 8:15am. That is way early for me so I am pretty proud of myself. I even went to go work out but the stupid gym was closed. I couldn't believe it. So I did my Pilates DVD in my living room. That is a hard work out. It is Ian's Mom's birthday today. At lunch time we are going over to Marie's house for a little party. Julian and Marie have just bought a new house, one of the ugliest houses I have ever seen, that they are renovating. Julian had the whole downstairs changed in 6 days. Who knows how long it will take to get the rest done, but they big plans and I think once it is all done it will be really nice. Back to the party we have that today and then tonight I am not sure what we are going to do. Got any ideas? My Mom is going to see Movin' Out, the show that Todd is in. How exciting I wish I could see that show. He is staying with Heather in Tulsa right now and they are having so much fun. I am seriously gutted that I am not there with them. Excuse the English lingo but it is the only word I could think of to say how I felt. I went shopping in London yesterday to cheer myself up. London is crazy. There are so many people everywhere and none of them want to look at anyone else. It is almost as if they act like they are the only person on the street. Weird. Except guys at pubs or coffee shops they all seem to want to talk. Interesting. Well I guess that is all for now. My brain isn't really in this so it is not that creative. Apologies. The next one will be better I promise. Peace Out.
PS for those of you who wear and like make-up check out the new primer from M.A.C. it is amazing.

In the studio

Yesterday I spent the whole day in the studio with Oyvind working on a track for my EP. The song is called "Be Love" and it is a cover. I wish I wrote it because it is an awesome song. I really miss being in the studio so yesterday was great for me. Memories from Raze days came flooding into my head. Those were good times, but I know there are great times ahead in terms of music for me. The future, as I imagine in my fantasy I suppose, looks bright. Finally I have focus and vision. It has been a long time since I could imagine having a real career in music.
Oyvind is so cool to work with he has such a peaceful demeanor. He recently got married to Liz so we haven't been working for a bit while they settle into marriage. They are one of the cutest and coolest couples I know. Glad to be moving ahead and thinking ahead.

Where have I been?

I am not sure what I have been up to lately. Ian has been in Australia so I have been trying to keep busy so I don't miss him too much. BUt it is not really woring becasuse I do miss him. Boo. On Sunday he will be home. Yippee!! I spent a day in Tunbridge Wells, if you haven't been there go. It is like the Pleasantville of England. Beautiful and full of pretty rich people. I scored a deal on some sale clothes, very exciting. Oh...and I had the best chocalate coffee drink ever known to man, Bicerin. It is from a cool little restaraunt called Carluccio's and it is served in three of the cutest little milk jugs you have ever seen, so tiny, so cute. One is filled with Florintine drinking chocolate (melted dark chocolate), the next double cream ( I am salivating just thinking about it), and the last espresso. You then pour those into a mug in whatever ratio you are feeling and ouila! The best chocolate coffee drink ever known to man. I am thinking about trying it at home. The downer is the calories must be out if this world, but try not to think about it and enjoy. Yummy for my tummy. Really that has been the highlight of my week.

Tom's Birthday Weekend!

I was not aware that Tom's birthday is like a national holiday until this fun filled weekend. On Friday we took a boat ride on the Thames in a little motor boat captained mainly by Stuart. Some of the others gave it a go but Stuart was clearly the nest driver. They asked me to drive a couple of times, unaware of my nearly immaculate driving record (uuhkumm), but graciously I declined not wanting to put the boys to shame with my amazing driving skills. Of course the fresh air went to Tom's head and we were subjected to his nakedness once again. Seriously, the guy cannot keep his willy in his pants. I am starting to think something might be wrong with him. Or he just needs a lot of attention.
After the boat ride we took an exciting trip to Costco. Just like Sam's and I loved it. I pretended I was in America soaking up the huge fluorescent lights and spreading out in the massive aisles of crap that you don't really need, but have to buy because it is so cheap. I bought a giant piece of pizza for £1.25. Unbelievable.
As the night descended we made our way to Stu and Lou's ( I love that their names rhyme) house for drinks and fun. And a little dancing.
Saturday night was the actual party I guess Friday night acted as the pre-party. Starting at about 7:30pm but really starting around 9:30pm. Lots of fun and again some dancing. I made some cookie cakes for the birthday boy and girl which were a big hit. Very American apparently. That was about it, but it seemed that it was a party that lasted all weekend.
Thank God it is over and we can get back to our normal life.
Happy Birthday Tom and Lou!

While My Guitar Gently Weeps...

I have finally gotten Ian's guitar restrung and bought some song books so I can continue my "learning how to play guitar" journey. That journey was put on hold when I made the move across the sea only until I made the time to restart it on this side of the Atlantic. Now is the time and the Flat is the place, well until we move to Beaconsfield anyway. The pain on the tips of my fingers act as a reminder of the time that has past since I crucified Robbie Williams "Angels" in a meager attempt to grow as artist.

Heather is the coolest!
My best friend Heather is so clued in to the new music scene it's like she can see into the future of Casey Kasum's Top 40. She keeps her feet on the ground while she reaches for the stars. And like a best friend should she blesses me with her new discoveries like an excited child shares finding a shiny new penny. So this is her latest. I promise you will love it. OK GO.

Lost in New Orleans
Lost seems to be the new show to watch in England. They are a season behind America which I find extremely annoying so the other night after watching two episodes in a row I really needed to know what was going to happen. So I got online (the internet is my favorite), went to the website, and proceeded to read the written versions of every episode. It took awhile but now I am all caught up to America and ready for the season premier at the end of Sept. The best part of this is that Tom is totally into the show and he doesn't want to know what is happening. Finally I have something to taunt him with. Every time he says something out of order to me I tell him something important that happens to the castaways. I love it! He hates it! Yes!
Let me know if you are into the show so we can talk about it.
Last night on the news they showed footage of some folks basically lost in New Orleans, living on their roofs with no water or food. Surprisingly hurricanes seem to leave behind a good supply of cigarettes. Every cajun tongued interviewee was smoking. Seriously though why is there no help there? The reporter informed us that the Red Cross was only set up for about 3 hours and then left. The locals have no supplies and no way out since their cars have been swept away and even if they had them they can't get gas. I want to know if this is true and if so how could Louisiana and the US be so ill prepared for such a natural disaster. Apparently the US government was warned that this was possible. If anyone has any insight please share it with me.
